Inner Wheel Club presents “Comedy with a Cause”

-

To celebrate their 50th anniversary the Inner Wheel Club of Colombo will present, “Comedy with a Cause”– an evening of dinner theatre, where your laughter and caring will reach out to all parts of this land. It will be held on Tuesday, August 25, at the Ramada Colombo, at 7.45 p.m.

Directed by Nafeesa K. Amiruddeen, the show features the Performing Arts Company, well known for their hilarious comedies. A well known cast including Mohamed Adamaly, Sean Amarasekera, Arjuna Wignaraja, Dimitri Gunatilleke, Imani Perera and Damien Fernando, will take the stage in what promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening full of laughter, fun and fine food!

The proceeds from this evening will be used to create a library and provide sanitation facilities for the Dudley Senanayake Vidyalaya in Colombo 5, which has a student strength of 720. The school has just three washrooms which are in a deplorable condition, used by both girls and boys. Library facilities are also inadequate.

Some of the funds raised will also be used to provide specialized wheel chairs to Cerebral Palsy patients from impoverished homes. The rest of the funds will be utilized to provide clean drinking water to families in the dry zone.

Many things that most of us take for granted – like clean water or a decent toilet are unfortunately not available to a significant number of people. The Inner Wheel Club hopes that Colombo audiences will respond enthusiastically to their efforts to help the needy.

Tickets for this event can be purchased from The Ramada Colombo.
