Once all the above factors are taken in to consideration, there is an institute which stands out among the rest. This is the Imperial Institute of Higher Education (IIHE). IIHE is a Higher Education Institution founded in 1996 which prepares students for careers in the corporate world with degrees from leading world universities. Its mission is excellence in academic and professional development through quality tertiary education, particularly through Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. It also infuses competitiveness in to the business sector by developing professional leaders with cutting edge knowledge and skills and an ethical and moral commitment to the corporate environment and society at large. IIHE has had a long lasting partnership with the renowned University of Wales for over fifteen years and it is also affiliated with other prestigious universities in the UK.

The University of Wales is one of the largest and most reputed Universities in the UK and is renowned for the provision of world class education, and since its founding in 1893, has played a substantial role in the development of higher education in Wales. Over the years the University has adapted in order to be in a position to respond to the needs of students, and now offers its degrees at affiliated institutions across Wales as well as at a 100 other collaborative centres in over 30 countries.

All lecturers at IIHE are appointed and assessed by the University of Wales. Minimum qualification requirements are a classified first degree and Postgraduate qualification together with industry expertise and experience. This helps to maintain the same quality of teaching available at University of Wales and ensures that the programme is a balanced combination of academia and professionalism.

The panel of lecturers consists of eminent academics and industry leaders while the dissertation supervisory panel consists of holders of doctoral degrees with intensive research experience.

In terms of teaching methodology, IIHE provides Real Life Problem Solving (RLPS) where students are divided into groups and are expected to find solutions for actual problems and issues affecting HR, Finance, Distribution or Marketing of a well established company. Students of IIHE will deal with large corporates such as Unilever, Fonterra, Dialog, John Keells, etc,. this opportunity not only provides the students an exposure into corporate life, but also provides an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and abilities to potential employers.

There is also a dissertation where students are expected to complete a 15,000 to 20,000 words dissertation that is completely research based. This dissertation enables students to integrate their knowledge and skills to address an industrial problem and find a solution based on scientific methodology. Additionally, a case study analysis exposes students to carrying out an intensive analysis of a specific unit, stressing on developmental factors in relation to context. It is a research based approach, situated between concrete data taking techniques and methodological paradigms.

IIHE is situated in a spacious building strategically located at Station Road Bambalapitiya (in close proximity to the Bambalapitiya Railway Station), which ensures easy access by rail and road to all students. The campus contains all modern facilities for an enjoyable learning experience and is one of the most up to date and best equipped institutes in Colombo. Furthermore, IIHE guarantees a very flexible and transparent fee structure which enables the student to understand total financial commitment at enrollment. The course fees are not subject to foreign currency rate fluctuations and there are no hidden charges. No revisions can be made to the fees after enrollment, and any revisions will only be applicable to new entrants.

Therefore we can see that IIHE satisfies all criteria which are important when choosing a higher education institute. Now the choice is yours.
