Dumith, Nadeera, Vihanga, Janishka shine in Sebs innings win

RESULTS:

St Sebastian’s bowlers Dumith Wellalage and Nadeera Fernando along with Vihanga Mendis and Janishka Perera shown with the bat and ball as the foursome combined to steer Sebs to a crushing innings and 61 run win over Ananda in the second round match of the Under 15 Division One cricket tournament played at Moratuwa.

Dumith Wellalage ended with an impressive match bag of 10 for 16 while Nadeera Fernando finished with a match bag of 8 for 26 with Vihanga Mendis cracking 99 while Janishka chipped in with an unbeaten half ton.

Dumith and Nadeera shared eight wickets between them in Ananda’s first inning to bundle them out for a meager 55 after which Vihanga and Janishka’s knocks enabled St Sebastian’s to post a score of 193 for 4 declared. Ananda batting the second time with a deficit of 138 runs succumbed to Dumith and Nadeera again and were bowled out for another low score of 77.In the other matches that were played saw Nalanda, Thurstan, De Mazenod, Royal Panadura and DSS recording first innings wins.
