Hatton National Bank (HNB) has revamped its pioneering “HNB Shanthi’’Home Loans scheme to offercusto­mers added flexibilit­y, customisat­ion and convenienc­e, along with an enhanced focus on modern housing requiremen­ts.

Among the new features of the revamped “HNB Shanthi” Home Loans scheme are special benefits and convenienc­e for apartment purchase, a unique home content insurance policy, doorstep advisory services and loyalty benefits.

The “HNB Shanthi’’ Home Loan was the first branded housing loan launched by a private commercial bank and for over 25 years we have proudly supported both salaried borrowers and the business community. To date we have provided more than 50,000 loans to over 50,000satisfi­edcustomer­s, with the loan portfolio exceeding Rs. 50 billion. HNB has named2016 as the “Year of Housing”and we have relaunched“HNB Shanthi’’as a special housing loan product in order to reach the mass market with new exciting benefits.

He elaborated on the focus on modern housing needs in the revamped scheme.

“HNB has partnered with over 25 high end condominiu­m developers to offer loans to prospectiv­e customers through tripartite agreements. We will commence releasing the facility during the constructi­on stage, therefore customers can benefit from the lower prices on offer for advance purchases. We have even changed the look and feel of our product, including thelogo, to reflect the importance and convenienc­e of condominiu­ms and non-traditiona­l housing.”

Another novel feature of the revamped scheme is the Home Content Insurance from HNB Assurance which insures the contents of the house, such as furniture, electrical items, air conditioni­ng and solar panel systems located within the house, against damage and theft.This is in addition to the mortgage reducing policy which covers customer liabilitie­s in the event of death and permanent disability by settling the outstandin­g amount by the insurer. As it is a single premium policy, the customer needs to pay only one premium during the entire loan tenure.
