After completing this course, you will be able to: plan and write more sophisticated essays – adapt a learning style - identify plagiarism and explain how to prevent it - read and analyse several articles to form your own opinion on a topic - make connections between several articles - form thesis statements from your readings - use sources effectively when writing an essay.

We focus on the qualities of good academic writing, including sentence clarity, style, cohesion, structure and argumentation as well as effective proofreading strategies. We also teach you how to identify relevant grammar and usage issues and how to avoid plagiarism (copying) - an academic offense often committed by students. This course develops your listening, reading, presentation, analytical and reflective thinking skills for university life, improving your capacity to be an autonomous learner, speaker and writer. Your confidence to participate fully in academic situations will be advanced by the end of the course.

ESOFT’s Academic English course includes instructor presentations, guided discussions, practical exercises and regular feedback sessions. It provides a valuable opportunity for students to improve their assignments and research papers and obtain higher scores in the first attempt. During the course, students will have the chance to revise and develop their assignments, based on constructive feedback from both their peers as well as the instructor. In our state-of-the-art Language centres, students work on their individual language skills and objectives through technology- supported activities.

Upon completion, you are able to sit for international competitive examinations such as IELTS /PTE/ TOEIC/TOEFL successfully as our course establishes and sustains the standard required of these specialist programmes.
