Hong Kong based legendary Lankan musicians at Curve

Popular Hong Kong based band Proteus are now in action at the Colombo’s most happening venue Curve Tapas Bar. Curve Tapas Bar, a trendy Lounge and bar set in the Park Street Mews complex, offering authentic Tapas, an extensive bar menu and live music. Curve Bar comes alive with music by legendary musicians Dylan Lye, Hassan Musafer, along with Adonis D Jesus and none other than Umara Rifky on vocals, known as ‘Proteus’ from Hong Kong as they perform from July 27th to Aug 21 every Wednesday and Saturday nights.

The band is managed and led by Dylan Lye, also guitarist who plays bass as well as lead and a synonymous name with the jazz aficionados of Sri Lanka, along with Drummer Hassan Musafer (both of Legendary Jet liners fame) . Dylan has absorbed the talents of Howard Roberts, George Benson, Nathan East and Marcus Miller and also chips in with vocals.

Adonis D Jesus is an extraordinary keyboardist, a great musician/composer and handles all the musical arrangements. A lady with a golden voice Umara Rifky (Srilankan) is the lead singer of the group. Umara rated as one of the top vocalists Sri Lanka has produced made a name for herself in Hong Kong within a short period of time. She has performed at most of the leading hotels in Hong Kong as the featured singer. She has won many international music awards in Europe and Asia.

PROTEUS has enjoyed years of success providing numerous clients with their performances and tremendous musical excellence in Hong Kong and performs popular hits from the 60s till today’s current chart toppers along with jazz, Latin, R&B and mood music for ones listening pleasure.
