EBL Hybrid Hub links up with two Singaporean firms

-

With the increase in hybrid and electric vehicles in the country and the growing trend towards eco-friendly modes of transport, Edirisinghe Brothers (Pvt) Ltd, (EBL) founded by Don Simon Edirisinghe 70 years ago, has ventured into providing specialised maintenance services for this burgeoning segment, officials of the company said.

The EBL has opened doors at its Hybrid Hub at Khettarama Temple Road, Colombo 10, for the hybrid vehicle operation with services extended to cover electric vehicles soon, Sanka Edirisinghe Co-Chief Operating Officer, Hybrid Hub, disclosed at the unveiling ceremony of the new facility.

Hybrid Hub is the only specialised, purpose built facility that utilises necessary technology from the US for testing, conditioning and rebuilding of hybrid batteries in Sri Lanka, he pointed out.

It will be able to carry out 'State Of Health’ checks for all crucial components of a hybrid vehicle using proprietary equipment technology, he added.

Partnering with Automotive Research and Design (AR&D), US for its proprietary HEV technology, and being powered by Growth Dynamics, Singapore, providing ongoing franchise training and development for technicians, Hybrid Hub is set to change the automotive landscape in the nation, he said.

Growth Dynamics has signed an agreement to provide continuous training and support in the areas of hybrid diagnostics to the technical staff at Hybrid Hub.

The company has already appointed Hybrid Hub as its first Asia Pacific Exclusive Franchisee for AR&D technology in Sri Lanka and will continue to support the team, who possess the technical understanding necessary to provide world-class hybrid-grade diagnostics and maintenance services to the Sri Lankan vehicle owner, Marcus Li, Assistant Manager Business Development for Growth Dynamics (Pte) Ltd, pointed out.

Optima Werkz, Singapore is the supporting partner for Hybrid Hub and it will provide technical support in the areas of vehicle diagnostics and repairs with its experience as Singapore’s leading workshop for Continental, Japanese, Korean and Super cars.

“Optima Werkz has long been established as Singapore’s one-stop shop for automotive engineering services,” Jason Ang, Managing Director of the company revealed.
