We are in town; IIHS has opened a new world of unlimited opportunities for students and professionals in the vicinity of Colombo. The International Institute of Health Sciences, currently located in Welisara will be officially opening doors in Bambalapitiya, Colombo. This is rather an exciting time for those currently affiliated with the institute as the new location will provide ample opportunities to students to further their academic and professional prospects.
IIHS is currently leading the Sri Lankan health education sector with its schools of Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biomedical Sciences and Health Administration. With world recognized health programs the premises will now launch the IIHS Business School which will open more avenues for those who wish to commence their journey in the corporate sector locally and internationally. The Business School will launch pathways to the Bachelors in Business Management and Bachelors in Commerce degrees where strong affiliations with Deakin University and Griffith University, both of which are prominent Universities in Australia. The enrollment for the Advanced Diploma in Business Management course 3 year diploma program is for students who obtained at least 3 minimal passes for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination. The diploma program will make students eligible to pursue a degree in Business Management in foreign universities. Furthermore, students who have not completed Advanced Level are presented with an opportunity to enroll with a certificate program in Business Management leading to the Advanced Diploma in Business Management. The significance of this diploma program is that whilst it provides theoretical knowledge, students will be placed in reputed business institutes of the country for internships within the first three years of the course is completed. This will ensure that the students complete the three year diploma program alongside two years of work experience in the field. IIHS focuses on building on the personality and public relation skills of the student which in return will guarantee working opportunities for. This has proven to be the central difference between IIHS and competing academic institutions which merely provide theoretical knowledge at a diploma or at degree level. Those that complete the 3 year program obtain guaranteed employment in a high end organization in Sri Lanka.
IIHS will also conduct a 1 year International Foundation Program for students who do not have Advanced Level qualifications but have 3 passes in Ordinary Level exams. This pathway to Coventry University does not require the student to pass IELTS exams and gives direct access to Bachelor’s Degrees in Food and Nutrition, Biomedical Sciences, Biological and Forensic Sciences, Human Biosciences, Medical and Pharmacological Sciences.
In addition, the new premises will conduct classes for the MBA in Health Sciences which is affiliated with Asia e University (Malaysia). In addition, the classes for the PhD and Masters programs which is currently conducted at the IIHS Welisara campus will now be at the IIHS City Campus which will convenient for working professionals.
