AIM launches World Class American Degree Transfer Program in collaboration with KDU College Malaysia

-

Opening up a plethora of prospects for the youth of Sri Lanka today, the American Institute of Merit (AIM) is pleased to announce the launch of a renowned American Degree Transfer Program in Sri Lanka. Envisioned as an institution where academics can thrive in an atmosphere of intellectual endeavor, AIM brings a fresh change to our private education system. AIM provides a comprehensive portfolio of majors and transfer destinations for students after both O/ Levels and A/Levels (students with pending results are also accepted). AIM also offers the exciting possibility of awarding exemptions for A/Level students contingent on their results, on a case-by-case basis in compliance with the partner university’s requirements.

The AIM Story

AIM had its Grand Opening on the 17th of July 2016 with the blessing of His Excellency President Maithripala Sirisena. With a view of benchmarking excellence in education today, AIM strives to be ‘The leader in the integration of teaching, learning and preparing outstanding young professionals.’

In the Sri Lankan context, the demand for private tertiary education is on the rise. However, a lack of honesty and transparency on the part of many players in the private education field today, results in the exploitation of students just to make profits, regardless of whether the degree offered is recognized. True to its vision, AIM was born to revolutionize this state of affairs and to steer the ship in a greaterservice direction, as opposed to a purely business one.

AIM’s education philosophy is to provide students with a quality education at an affordable cost by combining classroom theory with real-life practical experience so that they are prepared for rapid career advancement in today’s world. Through the academic platform provided by AIM, the hope is to strengthen education opportunities not only in Sri Lanka, but in the whole South Asian region.

AIM is the brainchild of Dr. Nuraj I. Rajapakse, an expert engineer and an overseas-trained research scientist, who is also the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Academic Officer of AIM. Dr. Rajapakse brings fifteen years of teaching and academic administration experience and five years of industrial experience to AIM.

The AIM Campus

Located in the heart of Nawala, the AIM campus boasts of modern facilities which are on a par with the latest trends in education and technology. Equipped with a library, laboratories, dedicated Student Support Services, an English Language Teaching Centre and more, AIM is wellgrounded in its quest to help students on the career path that best suits their ambitions, aspirations and personality.
