Panadura SC crush Police SC with a day to spare

Panadura SC crushed Police SC by an innings and 15 runs with a day to spare in their Premier League Tier B inter-club cricket encounter concluded at the Panadura Esplanade yesterday.

The foundation for Panadura SC’s win was laid by their left arm orthodox spinner Gayan Sirisoma’s who ended with a career best figures of 9 for 38 on day one to skittle cops out for a meager score of 97 in reply to Panadura SC’s score of 263.

Police SC made to follow on and left with the task of erasing a deficit of 166 runs was making steady progress with the score on 124 for 3 at the lunch break.

But the post lunch session saw Police SC losing wickets at regular intervals as they lost their remain- ing seven wickets for the addition of only 27 runs being bowled out for 151.

At the Welagedera Stadium Kurunegala YCC won first innings points against Navy. In reply to Navy’s first innings total of 297, Kurunegala YCC replied with score of 375 for 9. For KYCC Dhanushka Dharmasiri scored 134 while Hashan Prabath scored an unbeaten 97.

Half tons by Gayan Madushan and Ranesh Perera helped SLPA CC take a first inning lead over Air Force SC in the match played at Welisara. SLPA CC resuming from their overnight score of 123 for 3 went on to make a score of 347 in reply t o the Airmen’s score of 172.
