Sampath Bank PLC rises within the pinnacle of Sri Lankan Corporates

Sampath Bank PLC was awarded the 6th top corporate performer in Sri Lanka for the financial year ending 2015 – 2016 at the Business Today TOP 30 Awards Ceremony held at Colombo Hilton on the 16th November 2016 in the presence of Chief Guest, Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesi­nghe.

This year, the Bank leaped up an impressive 4 ranks from No.10 in the financial year ending 2014 – 2015 edition of Business Today’s TOP 30. Over the past two decades, the Bank was recognised for their strength, stability and primary focus on customer convenienc­e, informatio­n technology and innovative products.

Having been recognised as the 6th top corporate, Sampath Bank was also commended for its underlying commitment of good governance evident in the Bank’s balance between economic performanc­e of corporates and environmen­tal social performanc­e. During the financial year 2015, Sampath Bank posted a revenue up by 5.5 per cent to record 47.0 billion rupees. The Bank further docu- mented a growth of 24.8 per cent to record 6.1 billion rupees after taxes.

Positioned as one of the leading private banks in Sri Lanka that outshines convention­al customs of the banking industry, Sampath Bank was recently honoured with awards for ‘Best Innovation in Retail Banking 2016’ and ‘Best Commercial Bank of the Year Sri Lanka 2016’. Furthermor­e, accolades such as Sri Lanka’s Best Bank 2016’ and ‘The Best Retail and Commercial Bank in Sri Lanka 2016’, elevates Sampath Bank on to a higher pedestal – standing as a monument of excellence in the banking industry of Sri Lanka.
