Bishopian Savini Jayasooriy­a reigns supreme

Janaka Bogollagam­a memorial "B" grade ranking tennis tournament 2016

Savini Jayasooriy­a of Bishops College, Colombo, stole the limelight, sweeping all 3 age Groups at the Janaka Bogollagam­a Memorial 'B' Grade ranking Tennis tournament 2016, conducted at the Kurunegala Tennis Club courts.

Savini won the Girls Under (U)-14, U-16 and U-18 Singles titles. She beat Tiera Benaragama 6-4, 6-2 in the U-14 final, Samadhi Jayasingha 6-4, 6-1 in the U-16 final and Ayani Moosa 6-2, 7-6 (3) in the U-18 final.

Heshani Imanga beat Ashanthi Senevirath­na 6-4, 6-2 to win the Girls U-12 Singles final. Wenuka Kithnula won a double in the Boys U-12 category, when he won the Singles titles beating J.A.S. Bandara 6-2, 6-1, and then paired with Akith Senarathna to beat Avishka Fernando and Rayan Fernando 9-0, to annexe the Doubles title.

SLTA Tournament Referee was Manoj Fonseka, while the Tournament Director was Sujani Bogollagam­a.
