ICBT Campus Director appointed to Ministry of Education Committee of Universal Innovators Think-Tank in China
Director of ICBT Campus has been appointed to Ministry of Education Committee of Universal Innovators Think-Tank in China set up to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and start-up education.
The Ministry of Education in China, National Centre for Schooling Development Programme has set up the Universal Innovators Tank (UIT) in conjunction with an UIT online platform and UIT public fund.
Cardiff Met’s Pro Vice Chancellor (International), Professor Mohamed Loutfi who is also a Director at ICBT Campus, has been appointed as one of nine standing members of the UIT academic committee for two years, and is the only member from Europe. The committee will explore and promote new education models by establishing and standardising the education system in China in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The aim of the think-tank is to increase the efficiency of innovation achievement transformation through school-enterprise cooperation and industryuniversity-research cooperation to create a positive ecosystem. The think tank intends to promote academic democracy, increase communication and improve academic standards.
UIT will work with multiple authorities, thousands of universities, tens of thousands of enterprises, and millions of university and college students to promote innovation and employability in Higher Education.
Dr. Mohan Pathirana the CEO/ Executive Director of ICBT commented: “This is brilliant news for ICBT Campus and Sri Lanka. I am delighted that Professor Loutfi has become a member of such a prestigious committee. By any measure he is an outstanding personality, and I am sure that he will contribute enormously to this think-tank”. Dr. Pathirana is confident that Prof. Loutfi will use the opportunity to put Sri Lanka on the global education map and create opportunities for Chinese and other International students to study in Sri Lanka at ICBT Campus
