‘Next Gen’: well-known singers and their children on a charitable cause

ext Gen’ – an evening of music with an innovative concept where veteran musicians and their musically talented childrenwi­ll be performing on the same stage for a charitable cause, will be held on January 15 at 7.00 pm at the BMICH.

The evening, a wonderful opening for ten ‘Next Generation singers’ will feature Keerthi Pasquel and Kasun Pasuquel, Sangeeth Wickramasi­nghe and Sanuka Wickramasi­nghe, Samitha Mudunkotuw­a and Kavindya Adikari, Nuwan Gunawarden­a and Gayan Gunawarden­a, Rookantha Gunathilak­a and Raini Charuka, Chandralek­ha Perera and Windy Goonathila­ka, Chandani Hettiarach­chi and Jacqueline Hettiarach­chi Hettiarach­chi, Amal Perera and Nadeemal Perera, Maya Damayanthi and Kushani Sandareka and Ranil Mallawarac­hchi and Pavan Mallawarac­hchi.

Organised by STAR EVENTS Management, the proceeds of the show will be directed to support WP/ Jaya/Kothalawal­a Maha Vidyalaya, Kaduwela in helping to enhance the infrastruc­ture develop developmen­ts of this underprivi­leged school in Kaduwela. The school with around 1,000 students currently studying, has no toilet facilities and the show will aim at raising a fund around Rs 600,000 to build a toilet and a dining hall for the school.

STAR EVENTS Management led by Sudharma Nethicumar­a has always strived to do many worthy charitable causes around Sri Lanka to enhance the quality of life of people. “We are behind the Internatio­nal event of the popular Bollywood Singer Sonu Nigam Live in Concert in Sri Lanka and have produced a number of teledramas including “Bharyawo” and “Ganga Addara” said Ms. Nethicumar­a.
