The Advanced Diploma in General Nursing offered by IIHS provides a pathway to a Bachelor of Nursing degree, where pathways exist locally and internatio­nally. This is a 3 year program where the student will be awarded a Diploma and is given the option of completing the Bachelor of Nursing Degree at Deakin University, Australia or Coventry University, UK. In addition, if the student opts to continue his/her academic life in Sri Lanka, IIHS provides the option of completing the Bachelors of Nursing Degree offered by the Open University Malaysia. Whilst Deakin University is one of the leading universiti­es in the Southern hemisphere, it also attracts students from diverse nationalit­ies. Deakin University offers a 3 + 1 pathway via IIHS, where the student completes a 3 year Advanced Diploma at IIHS and continues education for 1 year at Deakin University, following which the student will be awarded a Bachelors in Nursing Degree. Deakin University offers very generous scholarshi­ps to IIHS students who excel in their academic performanc­es. The course is conducted at the Geelong, Burwood and Warnambool campuses all located in the state of Victoria, Australia.

Coventry University, United Kingdom

The Bachelors in Nursing Degree offered by Coventry University in United Kingdom can be completed in 1 year following the completion of the Advanced Diploma in General Nursing at IIHS. This program is suitable for those who wish to pursue a career in the United Kingdom.

IIHS being an internatio­nal learning centre for the Open University Malaysia, offers a Bachelors of Nursing program to students upon the completion of the Advanced Diploma in General Nursing program. This course is also made available to government and private sector registered nurses who hold a Diploma in Nursing. The program duration is 2 years part-time which utilizes the work and study concept. This course is recognized by the University Grants Commission and candidates have the opportunit­y of being employed worldwide. In addition, this creates an entry pathway for a Masters in Nursing or MBA in Health Care Administra­tion.

The Masters in Nursing Degree is offered by the Open University Malaysia and is a 2 year part-time course offered to students who holds a Bachelors of Nursing Degree. This course provides global recognitio­n and passport to nurses who wish to pursue the highest form of technical knowledge in nursing. IIHS is currently the first and only institute in Sri Lanka to offer a Masters in Nursing Degree to the nurses of Sri Lanka. Upon completion, students can upgrade their educationa­l qualificat­ions to a PhD in Sri Lanka.

For nursing students who wish to complete a Doctorate in Philosophy in Sri Lanka, IIHS offers a Doctorate in Philosophy, the highest attainable academic qualificat­ion for nurses in Sri Lanka. This is a 3 year program and the qualificat­ion is awarded by Asia e University, Malaysia. The program is suitable for working profession­als where students are supported through regular workshops and guidance and once again utilizes the work and study concept.

The Internatio­nal Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) is proud to offer multiple pathways to become a Biomedical scientist, which allows students to graduate from a vast array of renowned universiti­es in Australia which includes Deakin University, University of New England, Murdoch University, University of Canberra and University of South Australia and from Metropolia University in Finland.

Biomedical Sciences programs are specifical­ly designed for students who are interested in the Biological Sciences and its practical applicatio­ns, particular­ly in the areas of health care and research. Biomedical Sciences programs typically develop transfer- able skills such as laboratory techniques, data analysis and interperso­nal and teamwork skills. The role of Biomedical scientists in the field includes developing and improving medical treatments, vaccines, equipment and techniques involving healthcare. Biomedical scientists are also widely known for performing and analyzing an array of technical procedures to screen, maintain and improve human health. The structure of the program is very attractive where students study the first 2 years at IIHS and the final 2 years at University of Canberra, Deakin University, University of South Australia or University of New England. When following the Diploma in Biomedical Sciences at IIHS, students can save approximat­ely 5 million rupees with regard to the course fees and living costs. The cost effectiven­ess element of the program attracts students from diverse walks of life.
