Outlining her journey in entering into and being an integral part of this fast-paced industrysh- estated “to capitalize on all that this industry has to offer, you must first educate yourself about the intricacies of hospitality administration and familiarize yourself with the diverse opportunities that are available.Therefore based on my own particular interests in this industry, I was on the lookout for a degree that encompassed travel and tourism management, tourism and hospitality management, as well as event management, all of which are areas that are very relevant to this industry in the future .After an extensive search I came across the degreeof BSc (Hons) in Business and Tourism Management from the University of Salford , that is designed with a broadly based program of study in the field of Tourism.I found that the curriculum provided an articulated pathway for students and had a combination of theoretical knowledge, research skills and practical skills necessary for understanding issues in tourism and applying that knowledge in ways that match needs and emerging trends within the sector. Other areas of concentration comprised of necessary business skills such as Marketing, Accounting, HRM, Economics, and business statistics.It also included internships that provided placements at some of the top companies and hotels in the country. All of these distinguishing elements convinced me that this was the rightdegree for me to study and would behugely beneficial to me in gaining the skills I required.
