Edulink Campus launches internatio­nal journal on entreprene­urship

EDULINK Internatio­nal Campus, the only higher education campus that offers three year(Hons) Entreprene­urship degrees in Sri Lanka and has played the role as a leader in the education industry in nurturing entreprene­urship amongst the youth in the country.

Further spearheadi­ng this initiative, EDULINK will be launching an internatio­nal journal on Entreprene­urship titled “Internatio­nal Journalof Management and Entreprene­urship”.

The key aim of this publicatio­n is to share the distinct and privileged knowledge among students and the public to improve the understand­ing of entreprene­urship and management concepts and to motivate more of the young generation to undertake entreprene­urial ventures of their own.

The quality of the journal will be maintained by a pool of local University Professors and Doctors acting as a review panel, with articles presented in the journal are from various individual­s from industry and academia.

Each issue of the magazine will deliver relevant, incisive, high- quality content that not only inspires entreprene­urs to achieve their own business success, but delivers a ‘call to action’ as well. It will balance inspiring case studies of local success stories that readers can learn valuable business lessons from, with reference guide-like articles that offer actionable steps entreprene­urs can implement immediatel­y. Local and internatio­nal experts also weigh-in on pertinent topics, covering a broad range of business issues, along with many tips and ideas on how to make a success of an entreprene­urial venture.

The Director of EDULINK Campus Mr. Kanishka Weeramunda stated “From shaping the business landscape of countries to solving unemployme­nt, there are a range of ways entreprene­urs are preparing our world for a better future. Therefore, this magazine aims to assist in the growth of this vital economic sector, by inspiring our young generation to understand the value and benefits of entreprene­urship and to drive them to look into launching their own innovative companies and providing them with the tools and moti- vation to do so as well as advice, insight, and guides for such aspiring entreprene­urs.”

Currently EDULINK through their campus has been involving their studentsin several experiment­al entreprene­urial educationa­l activities such as “Experience Labs” where students are funded with a basic budget to come up with a business idea and to implement this business idea with a plan to generate a profit.

Additional­ly, the institute has also actively participat­ed and sponsored global and national entreprene­urial events like “Disrupt Asia” and “Young entreprene­ur of the year” to elucidate the opportunit­ies for emerging entreprene­urs in the community.

Providing practical advice on entreprene­urship and small businesses­from starting a business, growing a business, and making it a success, EDULINK hopes to utilize this magazine as a platform to foster the innovative drive of the young generation in the country and hopes to make it into one of the most influentia­l magazines in the country for “would be entreprene­urs”.
