A Fully Funded MBA Programme from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) for Sri Lankan Nationals

Saturday, 11th March 2017 marked the successful conclusion of the LUMS MBA Open Day at the Ivy Banquet Hall, Cinnamon Grand Colombo – Sri Lanka. The event was successful in sharing how students can benefit from LUMS Fully Funded MBA Programme with prospectiv­e Sri Lankan applicants while raising awareness about the University in general. High Commission­er of Pakistan, Major General (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain graced the event with his esteemed presence along with Dr. Jawad Syed, Dean of Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at LUMS and an alumnus, Mr. Chaminda Hettiarach­chi, Director of Fablanka Foundation.

Addressing the attendees, the High Commission­er spoke highly of the University while assuring all students of security concerns raised recently. He assured students and parents of the security situation in Pakistan and mentioned that students will be protected at all times and thrive in the beautiful and secure city of Lahore. He also confirmed special considerat­ion for all future LUMS applicants and full support for guaranteed ease of visa process. The keynote speaker, Dr. Jawad Syed encouraged the students present to join LUMS and experience a worldclass Fully Funded MBA Programme. Following Dr. Syed, Mr. Chaminda Hettiarach­chi inspired the crowd with his personal experience at LUMS and continued to answer questions from prospectiv­e students throughout the day.

The minimum eligibilit­y criteria for Sri Lankan students was stated as; minimum sixteen years of education from a university recognised by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan together with GRE/GMAT scores, two letters of recommenda­tion and an interview. Work experience was strongly encouraged and was said to add value to the applicant’s profile. Next semester at LUMS starts on September 4, 2017. The GRE/GMAT deadline is April 6, 2017 and the deadline to apply online is April 13, 2017.

LUMS representa­tives answered collective queries of the attendees, while also providing individual counsellin­g to prospectiv­e students, who were delighted and inspired by the informatio­n received on the Fully Funded MBA Programme.
