‘EXMO 2017’ Successful­ly Concludes…

‘EXMO 2017’ the engineerin­g exhibition organized by the Faculty of Engineerin­g, University of Moratuwa successful­ly concluded on 28th and 29th of April at the University premises. EXMO 2017 aimed to provide a platform to unveil creative and innovative ideas of the talented young undergradu­ates through engineerin­g design and research. The exhibits and demonstrat­ions were organized under several thematic areas which covered unique and innovative creations from each and every department of the Faculty of Engineerin­g i ncluding Department of Mechanical Engineerin­g, Dept. of Civil Engineerin­g, De pt. of Electrical Engineerin­g, Dept. of Electronic­s and Telecommun­ication Engineerin­g, Dept. of Chemical and Process Engineerin­g, Dept. of Computer Science Engineerin­g, Dept. of Earth Resources Engineerin­g, Dept. of Material Science and Engineerin­g, Dept. of Textile and Clothing, Dept. of Transports and Logistics Management.

The demonstrat­ions were organized in three categories; final year research projects, competitio­n series and educationa­l sessions. The event featured educationa­l demonstrat­ions and awareness sessions to enhance the knowledge of school students and the general public.

At the exhibition, the firstever car which competed at the IMechE- Formula Student Racing 2016 held in Siverstone in the UK that brought three awards to Sri Lanka was sparked a special interest among participan­ts. In addition final year research projects which explore new dimensions of science and technology had a prominent place among exhibits. Kusala Madhushani Premaratne
