‘Connecting People to Nature’ on 14th June
The Department of Geography, University of Colombo is ready to celebrate this year’s World Environment Day on 14th June 2017 under the theme of “Connecting People to Nature” with a series of activities.
There will be an educational exhibition gathering many environment related stakeholders under one roof on the same day along with a series of workshops for students in both university as well as schools. Main objective of this exhibition is to enhance understanding on environmental protection and importance of becoming an active participant in protecting Mother Nature. Along with this, there are competitions planned to be conducted under different categories.
University of Colombo would like to encourage you to take part in this event and share your knowledge and talents with the community.
The inauguration of the Study Abroad Training Program on “Sustainable Tropical Agricultural Systems” was recently held at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. 14 students from Michigan states University including 04 students from University of Peradeniya had been enrolled to this program.
The aim of the program was to expose the students of Michigan states University, as well as students of University of Pe r a d e n i ya to Sustainable Tropical Agricultural Systems. The Agriculture Education Unit is offering this Study Abroad Training program for one month for the 5th consecutive year as an outcome of a MOU signed between the Michigan States University and University of Peradeniya. This program was coordinated by the Agriculture Education Unit.
