A real time court simulation
A MOOT COURT is an extracurricular activity at many law schools in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings, usually to include drafting briefs ( or memorials) and participating in oral argument. Moot court usually refers to a simulated appellate court or arbitral case, while a “mock trial” usually refers to a simulated jury trial or bench trial. Moot court does not involve actual testimony by witnesses or the presentation of evidence, but is focused solely on the application of the law to a common set of evidentiary assumptions to which the students must be introduced.
A MOOT COURT programme was organized and staged out by the Law students of BCAS KANDY CAMPUS on the 07th May 2017 at Devon Rest Kandy. This is an event which gives a good knowledge on the real time simulation of the court session where the lawyers are expected to perform their best as well as all the leading LAW schools emphasize greatly on this item to be included as part of the curriculum.
BCAS KANDY CAMPUS also has made this MOOT COURT event as a mandatory part of their LLB degree programme awarded by WolverHampton UK to full fill the requirement for the qualification.
This event was staged out by the LLB 8 and 9 batches as part of their academic cocurriculum, and they have showed an immense performance to make the event as a success.
