AOD presents Design Experience Day 2017 this July to share insight on Design as a Career Choice

Get Introduced to a Career in Design with some of today’s Biggest Prospects as AOD presents Design Experience Day 2017 extending an open invitation to students after ALs, OLs, on pending results and their parents to come understand the learning and working prospects in one of today’s best new career paths.

AOD is presenting ‘Design Experience Day 2017’. The event has been curated by internatio­nal design educators with an interactiv­e line-up of free events such as Design talks, one –onones with design experts, design workshops, mini exhibition­s, career counseling, design course intros, video screening and more. The event is carried out by a mix of internatio­nal and local design experts to give a direct experience of what it is like to study and work as a designer whether in Sri Lanka or abroad. Design Experience Day 2017 will be held on Saturday, July 15th at AOD, 29, Lauries Road, Colombo 4 between 9am to 5pm, with free entry.

AOD’s Design Experience Day 2017 also provides an insight into the kind of education and qualificat­ions demanded by the business world today. Fashion & Textile Design at AOD that will take you through a diverse range of fashion discipline­s and give access to a career which is creatively and profession­ally satisfying. Those who have a more entreprene­urial view will be able to gain a lucrative career through AOD’s Fashion Design & Marketing which focuses on Fashion and creative promotion. Visual communicat­ion (graphic) design is one of the most powerful degrees in design, giving access to over a hundred career paths across various businesses. The event will allow students to further understand the opportunit­ies available with visual communicat­ion. Interior design is a fastgrowin­g sector that presents some of the most rewarding careers available today and the event will consist of live exhibition­s and design talks to further explore this avenue in design. Responding to the need for internatio­nally relevant design education, AOD presents UK design degrees with Northumbri­a University- a trusted name officially recognised by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.

Speaking about ‘Design Experience Day’ curated by the AOD faculty with both students and parents in mind, its Principal Karen MacLeod mentioned the following; “Design Experience Day is that rare opportunit­y you get to really understand one of today’s greatest learning and working pros- pects. Whether you want to work in Sri Lanka or abroad, you get some of the best chances to do so, with design. We have curated this event keeping that in mind, and understand­ing the diverse needs, hopes and dreams of different students and parents that we have worked with for over a decade. So, we hope to see students from local and London AL background­s, those After OLs who might want to make early decisions and those on pending results, and of course their parents to meet us on July 15th Saturday.”
