APIIT Business, Law and Technology Conference 2017

The Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT), the largest provider of foreign degree qualifications in Computing/ICT, Business Management and Law in Sri Lanka, will hold its annual interdisciplinary research conference for the third consecutive year on 20th July 2017 at APIIT City Campus, Colombo 02.

Encouraging collaborative research in Business, Law and Technology, this year, the conference is aptly themed “Success through Synergy”, facilitating interdisciplinary research from diverse disciplines not limited to the disciplines of Business, Law and Computing. The conference will also provide a platform for undergraduates to display their talent and build their research acumen; outstanding student research projects will be showcased during the event as poster presentations.

The APIIT Business, Law and Technology Conference first launched in 2015 to showcase research in Business Management and, Information and Communication Technologies was enhanced by incorporating the Law discipline in 2016, thereby making the conference a true microcosm of evolving global business. This year’s conference evolves further by the inclusion of a panel discussion on the ‘Role of Higher Education in Promoting Entrepreneurship’.

The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Siva Muthaly, Dean, Faculty of Business and Management, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Malaysia.

The panel discussion will feature academic leaders and an eminent industry personality. The panelists will be Prof. Siva Muthaly, the conference keynote speaker, Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice-Chancellor, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. Athula PitigalaArachchi, CEO, Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology and Mr. W. K. H. Wegapitiya, Chairman, LAUGFS Holdings Limited. The session will be moderated by Mr. Riaz Hassen, CEO, Colombo Leadership Academy.

The large number of research papers received this year has been stringently reviewed by a panel of scholarly academics from relevant fields of study, setting the stage for an exceptional array of multidisciplinary research at the Business, Law and Technology Conference 2017. The APIIT Research Excellence Awards will also be presented at the conference in recognition of most notable achievements in the Business, Technology and Law disciplines.
