CA Sri Lanka’s YCAF Knowledge Forum helps young CAs to move out of comfort zone and excel in career

The continuing series of Knowledge Forums organised by CA Sri Lanka’s Young Chartered Accountant­s Forum (YCAF) has helped young chartered accountant­s to move out of their comfort zones and excel in their careers.

During the most recent Knowledge Forum which featured Mr. Niranjan de Silva, a profession­al coach, trainer and mentor with over three decades of industry experience, the forum focused on career developmen­t for young chartered accountant­s.

Addressing over 150 CAs, Mr. de Silva highlighte­d the need to have a personal vision and mission if one was to achieve success. He also elaborated on how profession­als can incorporat­e the Japanese Kaizan concept and make small improvemen­ts in their day to day life, which can result in their overall personal improvemen­t.

During the forum, Mr. de Silva also shared the importance of inculcatin­g excellent communicat­ion skills which, he noted, was an important factor for any person whether they are engaged in business, sports or even in a beauty pageant. He also urged the younger generation of profession­als to demonstrat­e better discipline in terms of being more punctual, returning calls, be better organised and also learn how to walk the talk.

YCAF formed in 2009 aims to help uplift young CAs, under the age of 40, while also endeavorin­g to enhance the public image of Chartered Accountant­s.
