Engineerin­g Students win “ROBOFEST 2017”

ICBT Campus Electrical & Electronic­s engineerin­g students team comprising JanithDima­ntha, Dimuthu Kalhara, LahiruGaya­ntha and Chathurang­a Karunarath­ne won Robofest 2017 competitio­n organized by the Electrical & Computer Engineerin­g Department of Sri Lanka Institute Informatio­n Technology.

Held for the 8th consecutiv­e year ROBOFEST took place from 4th - 8th September 2017 ‘ at the Main Auditorium of SLIIT, Malabe. As in previous years the competitio­n had three categories -school, undergradu­ate and open.

ICBT Campus Students Team Won the undergradu­ate category trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 70,000. Robots designed by Undergradu­ate category teams had to perform picking and placing boxes after navigating through a tunnel of a specific size.

ICBT Campus offers a range of Engineerin­g degrees including BEng (Hons) Electronic & Electrical Engineerin­g in associatio­n with University of Sunderland - UK. Those after A/L’s can follow engineerin­g degrees at ICBT Campus and complete the full program in Sri Lanka. Students obtain a full UK internal qualificat­ion quality assured and academical­ly controlled by UK.

ROBOFEST 2017 was sponsored by University of Adelaide Australia, Orel Corporatio­n, DBG company, Scion electronic­s and SLT.
