Linear Squared in line to serve the future needs
Linear Squared ( Pvt) Ltd, founded two years ago by two dynamic Sri Lankans is readying for their new game.
The only company specialised in data science and advanced analytics solutions in Sri Lanka, its founders, Dr. Sankha Muthu Poruthotage and Rajith Munasinghe have displayed the country’s best resources in Artificial Intelligence ( AI), Machine Learning (ML) and other big data technologies with globally renowned academic and professional training in data science in developing end- to- end solutions that cut across all three verticals of big data; data management, analytics and reporting to build products at Linear Squared.
Linear Squared is now aiming to develop a portfolio of MI and AI products for apparel, telecommunications, financial services and FMCG sectors, officials said.
As a company that solves complex business problems using ML and AI, Linear Squared has successfully raised a significant amount of investment of fund the next phase of its growth, they say.

This requires not only expert understanding about ML and AI but also, deep domain expertise. We as a company integrate all these elements in perfect harmony to provide ML and AI solutions that are designed to drive business outcomes,” Dr. Poruthotage noted.
He added that the path to intelligent and sustainable data driven solutions to complex business problems is in the alignment of data, analytics and technology. “We have successfully raised a significant amount of investment to fund the next phase of our growth. This new funding around was led by BOVCapital, the first Sri Lankan and Singapore based venture capital fund focusing on Sri Lankan ventures with funds earmarked for developing a portfolio of products addressing key business problems for local corporates, as well as as well as other growth opportunities,” Mr. Munasinghe added.
Rajan Anandan, Vice President of Google, Inc is the Chairman of Linear Squared while Prajeeth Balasubramaniam (BOVCapital), Jithendran Gajendran (JLN Investments) and Dr. Sankha Muthu Poruthotage are in the board of directors of the company.
One of their products, Capital Squared is the world’s first fully automated AI driven planning solution for the apparel industry. Built in collaboration with one of the leading Apparel manufacturers in the world, Capacity Squared will optimised the planning function and ensures resources in each strategic business unit is optimised, providing the manufacturer the opportunity to generate millions of dollars in additional revenue, Dr. Poruthotage said.
Results under factory environments have confirmed capacity enhancements of 20 per cent and allocation efficiencies of up to 99.5 per cent. In addition, significant reductions in planning time from several hours to less than five minutes enabled planners to accommodate ad- hoc developments in the factory floor and supply chain more frequently and accurately, leading to less disruptions, timely delivery and lower variable costs per unit.( Duruthu)
