Drivers line up to Register for Taxiyak

-

Registrations were conducted recently for the innovative taxi service Taxiyak, a product that will be launched in early November by Airport Travels (Pvt) Ltd at the Women’s International Hall in Colombo.

Speaking of the taxi service, Indika Wijayaratne, Manager- Sales & Marketing at Airport Travels said, “It is not just an app, it is a total transport service provider”.

The company has studied the international market, the current taxi service structures in Sri Lanka, as well as the needs of the customer, in designing the service. Taxiyak offers a number of options for the customer as well as the driver.

The registration was held to understand where the demand is as well as where the drivers are available, in order to provide a seamless service. The drivers will be trained by the company prior to the launch of the app in November.

Ranesh Pathirana, who had been working for Airport Travels for the past 21 years said that Taxiyak promises to be an app that promises to offer a responsible, dignified avenue for drivers. “With this new concept, drivers can find a company that empowers them and help them to create a better future,” said Pathirana.

Taxiyak will initially be available in Colombo, to be spread eventually. The app is powered by Airport Travels (Pvt) Ltd, which has been offering their services since 1996; Sampath Bank and Dialog have also partnered with Airport Travels in offering the app.
