Siththam 2017 Art Exhibition to take centre stage on November 10 & 11

The Royal College Union has once again embarked to display the creative art of primary students across the country, when it hosts Siththam 2017 Art Exhibition on the 10th and 11th of November 2017 at the Royal MAS Arena.‘Siththam 2017’ is a symposium of creative art, which children portray the world they see through the tip of the brush, crayon or the pencil. Held for the first time in 2016, the inaugural exhibition saw over 1600 drawings submitted by pri- mary students of Royal College.

This year the organizers have taken one step further by establishi­ng Siththam as a national brand and have expanded the exhibition to include drawings of primary children of schools from the Northern, Eastern and Western Provinces. Other than drawings from students of Royal College, the exhibition will also showcase arts from S. Thomas’ College Mt Lavinia, Ananda College, Thurstan College, VisakhaVid­yalaya, Jaffa Central College, St. John’s College Jaffna and St. Joseph’s College Trincomale­e.

Siththam 2017 is an epitome of unity, social solidarity and reconcilia­tion, which is fostered within the young students, through more than 2500 diverse collection of drawings, making it the largest art exhibition to take place in Sri Lanka. The exhibition is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and will be open free of charge for the public from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on both days.
