“Looking back the Edexcel curriculum not only developed my knowledge but also developed several skills that I am using today to progress through my career; practical skills, creative skills and innovative skills. As an engineer the most important skills are to be able to think critically and to analyze and that is what the Edexcel curriculum has taught me from a very young age.” ge.”

Tharaka Hettiarachchi, past student of Gateway College, currently works as the Director of the United Nations and International Affairs s Coordination Unit at the Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms (SCRM) under the Prime Minister’s Office in Sri Lanka. “Edexcel qualifications allowed me to undertake a wide range of subjects for study. An extremely useful fact as it permitted for a wide degree of personal academic interests at the secondary-school level and I was not curtailed to a cookie cutter approach to secondary education. Rather it allowed me to explore a well-rounded and in-depth education that proved useful in my pursuit of an undergraduate and postgraduate education”
