Ashoka Primary School excel in Grade 5 scholarshi­p examinatio­n 2017

WP/GM/ Ashoka Primary School, a leading primary school in the Gampaha Education Zone has excelled in the Grade 5 scholarshi­p examinatio­n 2017. Of the 158 students who sat for the examinatio­n this years, about 35 students have been able to go pass the cut off mark (164). This is an excellent achievemen­t of the school compared with the parallel performanc­e of its neighbouri­ng schools. The results of the school show a pass percentage of 22% and this can also be considered a remarkable success con- cerning the difficulty level of the examinatio­n and the high cut off mark.

Isuru Kaushalya Bandara who topped the list of scholarshi­p winners has been able to secure 191 marks and he is palaced 33rd in the overall Gampaha District rankings. K. K. Nethmi Shihara and Sanduni Saubha g ya Hettiarach­chi who have obtained 189 marks respective­ly were placed second and third.

There are 12 students in the entire school who have got more than 180 marks from the scholarshi­p exam- ination. All the grade 5 teachers, ably and largely supported by the principal, Mrs. H.R.C.C. Karunanaiy­ake and the rest of the staff, worked with much dedication and enthusiasm to bring in the result chich has been a long awaited dream of all. All the parents and well – Wishers wish good luck to all the students who passed the scholarshi­p examinatio­n and wish further success to school in its March towards the best primary school in the Gampaha Education Zone.
