LNBTI celebrates Japanese culture in style
Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) recently played host to many dignitiaries including H.E.Kenichi Suganuma San ( Ambasaddor of Japan in Sri Lanka) and invited guests, when they celebrated Japanese day in grand style on 1st November, 2017, at the campus. The event shed light on some of the best Japanese traditions and was a bright spark in the calendar of LNBTI.
At the event, the ambassador of Japan in Sri Lanka welcomed the 2nd batch students to LNBTI, expounding on the importance of education, amid celebrations of Japanese culture that allowed both current and new students to experience the real culture and lifestyle of Japan.
Attended by H.E. Kenichi Suganuma San, Koga Michio san ( Chairman, LNBTI), Mr. Dinesh Saparamadu ( Deputy C h a i r man, LNBTI), Kazuyuki Ikura San ( Managing Dire c t o r, Metatechno Lanka), Mr. Saman Kumara ( Director, LNBTI), and Dr. Manjula Sandirigama, (Head of academic, LNBTI), the Japanese Day was an ideal opportunity for students to become familiar with Japanese culture portrayed by Japanese nationals.
The activities at the event included making and enjoying delicious Japanese meals including Norimaki, especially Norimaki made by two Japanese senseis (teachers): Ishiyama sensei and Tomochika sensei. The food was a tasty testament to the rich heritage of Japan, and the students and guests had a wonderful time sampling the dishes that covered the tables. In addition, LNBTI students performed Japanese songs (both in groups and as solo singing) to entertain and educate the gathered guests.
Highlighting their talent and the knowledge gained at LNBTI, the students from the Robotics Club of LNBTI showcased their robots and electrical equipment to the Japanese community who were present at the event. This allowed the guests to understand the caliber of students that LNBTI produces, while allowing the students to receive feedback on their current work that would allow them to improve their future work.
The venue was beautifully and most tastefully decorated with traditional and authentic Japanese decorations and the presence of LNBTI students in dainty, light- hued kimonos was a memorable part of the day.
