Seekkuge, Dushan lead Army SC’s fightback

Spinners Seekkuge Prasanna and Dushan Vimukthi led Army SC’s fight back against CCC on the final day’s proceeding­s in the Premier Plate Championsh­ip encounter played at the BRC ground.

The duo shared eight wickets to bundle out CCC for a low score of 120. Later Army SC set a target of 189 runs for victory spearheade­d by Seekkuge was making steady progress with the score on 153 for 6 needing another 36 runs with four wickets in hand.

Tamil Union resuming from their overnight score of 295 for 6 went on to make 336 in reply to Bloomfield’s 323 to take a first innings lead in the second session of play at Braybrooke Place.

Lowly placed Badureliya CC dominated proceeding­s to take a well deserved first innings lead over fancied Moors SC at Reid Avenue.
