Mr Kariyawasam said on Tuesday, in Kuliyapitiya, Kurunegala, that, for the first time, 160 more students are to be admitted to the Medical Faculties this year.

“Others will be admitted to the Faculties of Management- 285 ,Technology- 225, Engineering50, Science- 200 and IT- 80," the Minister said.

He said 2 new Medical Faculties are to be established in Wayamba and Sabaragamuwa Universities this year, along with 33 new Degree courses introduced to all State universities this year.
