Nugegoda CA keeps Lanka flag flying in Bangalore

The Nugegoda Cricket Academy young cricketers kept the Sri Lanka flag fly high at the Bangalore National U n d e r- 1 3 Cricket Championship when they emerged champions with four victories. On their fifth tour to Bangalore the budding cricketers exhibited a high standard of sportsmanship on and off the field and was commended highly.

Ashan Isira had a big hand in this victory as he scored the only century of the tournament and finished the tour with scores of 56 n. o., 56 n. o, 23 n. o. and 34 to be the leading batsman. Nugegoda Cricket Academy scored wins over Venns Cricket Club, Bangalore Cricket Academy and City Cricket Academy in the preliminary rounds losing only to Chennai Cricket Club.

In a nail biting finals against Chennai Cricket Club the youngsters from Sri Lanka made amendments for their earlier defeat at the hands of Chennai Cricket Club by defeating them by 2 runs to receive the glittering championship trophy.
