ANC Education: The Best Choice after O Levels

- Businessman

Happy Students and their parents vouch for the unique educational experience at ANC…

ANC Education has long enjoyed a reputation as the leader in transnational education in Sri Lanka. World-class degree programs offered in collaboration with universities of international repute prepare students for the current global workforce. ANC’s university transfer programs have enabled thousands of students to continue their higher education at top notch universities in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Local students have also been able to earn prestigious US qualifications in Business and Psychology without travelling overseas for quality higher education as Northwood University and SUNY Empire State College offer their well-accredited degree programs without any localization at ANC.

ANC helps students find the right path and excel in their chosen path of career as it delivers a unique learning experience that allows students to define what they want out of their education regardless of how they start; to illustrate this, a number of students join ANC right after O levels every year, yet they are given the abundant support for a seamless transition from O levels to higher studies and opened up to a whole new world of learning and growth.

In their words…

“ANC has inculcated in its campus community a love for learning; continual interactions between students, faculty, and administration; and a balanced approach to education.” Navindi Kalansooriya Northwood- Finance Major

2016 OL: Royal Institute

I’m amazed at the familial atmosphere to be found at ANC. ANC fosters connections between students and faculty and peers. We are encouraged to visit our professors when we need assistance and build relationships with batch mates, seniors, and staff. ANC has a well-qualified faculty comprising renowned academics and industry professionals who are also committed to teaching and easily accessible. They always go the extra mile to help us out. Small classes also enable them to get to know us as individuals rather than

Muqaddasa Wahid, Shenali Perera and Anjalee Ranasinghe

another number in class.

Academic advisors help students in many activities from choosing classes and internships to deciding what to do after graduation. Students also tend to be friendly-they are willing to help another classmate better understand course material, and would gladly help a friend during tough times. We don’t compete against one another but rather help each other and push ourselves to be the best we can be.

There are also many opportunities to enjoy the campus community socially with a number of events such as fresher’s day out, Holi festival, Christmas party, Halloween party, Wesak celebrations, Iftar ceremony, New Year celebrations, ANC Fashion Show, etc. organized by student clubs and organizations under the patronage of ANC management. These activities inspire and guide us on more important things in life- integrity, self-confidence,

“The education I receive at ANC prepares me for my higher education in Canada and for life.”

Dithara Perera

1+3 Canada Transfer Program 2016 OL: Sirimavo Girls’ College Even though I’m a biomedical science major, I’ve gained exposure to subjects across almost all the academic disciplines through the General Education program. We have classes in several subjects, such as, Math, English Composition, History, IT, Natural Sciences, Sociology, World Literature, etc., so by the time we are prepared to transfer we will have improved several skills including writing and critical thinking skills, presentation skills, computing and quantitative skills necessary to succeed in college.

ANC also does an excellent job at keeping a check on us, especially in our fresh- man year. Remedial classes are arranged for those who need extra help through the Learning Center in addition to free SAT/ IELTS classes. Programs like peer tutoring and writing classes provide one-onone support. This has helped me obtain better grades in every class and maintain a GPA of 3.6 throughout even though I joined ANC soon after my O levels.

Hear what their parents have to say…

“Without a doubt, joining ANC soon after O levels has been one of the best decisions my daughter, Dithara has ever made. She is preparing to transfer to a Canadian university this year. ANC Transfer Division attends to everything from one-on-one meetings with the student and parents to discussions with representatives from Canadian universities to college and visa applications to ensure a positive acceptance. Also, ANC has worked in close collaboration with several Canadian universities for years, and it ensures a smooth transition between colleges. What’s more, ANC curriculums bridge the gap between O levels and freshman year in college. Even though my daughter didn’t have A levels, she has performed well in all her exams. I highly appreciate ANC’s efforts to help my daughter realize her career goals-to become a wildlife biologist one day.”

Mr. Danister Perera

Senior Manager (Retd.) People’s Bank

“My daughter, Navindi Kalansuriya is currently reading for her BBA in Finance at ANC. I have observed my daughter’s performance and development. Ever since she joined ANC she has maintained her GPA above 3.0. I can say that it’s simply because of her effort as well as the friendly learning environment at ANC. What sets ANC apart is this environment conducive to learning and the opportunities given for experiential learning. We can also see that she has developed her skills and built confidence after joining ANC. As parents we are very proud of Navindi as she does her best every time and lives up to our expectations. After all, we are grateful to ANC for helping her reach her full potential for a successful future.”
