ICBS offers a Scholarship for the value of one million rupees for students across the country
With the intention of upgrading the opportunities offered to the country’s next generation to qualify both academically and professionally, the Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS) one of the pioneering educational institutions in the country, is now offering 20 full scholarships and 5 full Sports Scholarships to students across the country. The value of each scholarship amounts to one million rupees.
This stems from ICBS being the only higher education institution in the country to provide a degree in International Business and Finance, that is validated by the University of the West of Scotland with 11 professional accreditations . The Director of ICBS Mr. PravinthRajaratnam, stated that they were keen to offer the opportunity for any talented student in the country to have access to this qualification.
Commencing from June 2018, ICBS will be conducting two separate exams , one for schools and the other for the students no longer in school . A maximum of five students per school from any study stream has the opportunity of vying for the examination.
The tests will include a placement test backed by two interviews to select the most deserving students for this scholarship program.
Mr. Rajaratnam said that any student who has excelled in the G.C.E O/L examination as well as those students who has represented the country in any sport are eligible to apply.
He added “we want to harness the talents of our young generation to be leaders who excel academically and think creatively about how to make the world a better place.”
He further stressed,“as higher education institutions increasingly start to cater for new economic sectors, students need the support of people to lobby for them with prospective employers. The focus of this program therefore is to provide a cost-effective way of offering high ranked degrees for students to build the skills, knowledge and expertise that will better prepare them to tackle the challenges of the modern world of business . By helping to provide students with an education that is more aligned to the needs of the labor market , we believe it will in turn lead to a bottom-up approach that will help improve employabili- ty and be an engine for innovation and growth in bringing about measurable changes for businesses in the country through the new knowledge gained by these millennial’s. We at ICBS feel it is therefore a very worthy investment that we are making in the youth of our country by through the launch of this scholarship program.”
ICBS having been an initiator in the market to launch Digital learning facilities in Sri Lanka and the first to secure an affiliation to deliver a Scottish MBA, once again takes the lead to offer one of the highest valued scholarships schemes offered to students in the country.
