Teacher Training in Preschool Methodology at Ladies’ College Institute of Professional Studies
The Ladies’ College Institute of Professional Studies (LCIPS) is proud to announce that due to the popular demand of our certificate course in preschool methodology we have planned to commence another similar course in the month of October. LCIPS has been in existence for over 35 years and has provided quality education in the spheres of vocational training, higher education and professional studies in wide range of areas including early childhood education, preschool, subprimary education, special needs education etc. Throughout the years LCIPS has developed a reputation of providing education conforming to high academic standards, and thousands of students have successfully graduated from this institution.
The certificate course in preschool methodology is ideal for those who want to enter early childhood and preschool teaching as it provides a solid foundation to this crucial area of education. It is also ideal for parents of young children who are interested to learn and develop their skills in educating and imparting vital skills. The content of this course includes child growth & social, cognitive, physical development, teaching strategies, classroom management, art & craft, music and movement etc. Students who complete this course has a pathway to a diploma, degree and masters at LCIPS.
The course would be conducted by Mrs. Yamunaa Kaluaratchi and Mrs. Yasaara Perera who are highly qualified and equipped with extensive experience in the earl y childhood sector. Mrs. Yamunaa Kaluaratchi is an educationist who counts over 20 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. She is also the founder and director of Bridgeway Montessori International and holds a Diploma in the Preschool method of teaching by the Open University, Sri Lanka. In addition she also holds the following qualifications: AMI diploma (Netherlands), Early Childhood diploma (Australia) and is currently reading for a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Yasaara Perera counts over a decade of experience in the education sector. She counts over five years of experience as a lecturer at several well established institutes and is also a unit author for the Bachelor’s in Psychology at the Open University of Sri Lanka. Mrs. Yasaara holds a MSc in Child and Educational Psychology (UK), a Bachelors in Psychology (USA) as well as a Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Australia).
