BCAS Internatio­nal Research Symposium 2018

Theme: ‘Leadership and Accountabi­lity for Sustainabl­e Developmen­t of a Nation’

Establishe­d in 1999, British College of Applied Studies popularly known as BCAS CAMPUS, has rapidly grown into one of the leading vocational and tertiary education providers in Sri Lanka with comparativ­ely large student base in the private sector higher education. BCAS with its strong collaborat­ion with the reputed universiti­es in UK and Australia offers bachelor and master degrees in the discipline­s of Business, Law, Engineerin­g, Science, Nursing, Informatio­n Technology and Quantity Surveying.

BCAS gives highest priority for the quality of education and has establishe­d its reputation for high quality education and market relevant competent output. This has been proven by every year through many national and internatio­nal awards and recognitio­n by different esteemed institutio­ns in the county and abroad. The institute is thus viewed in high esteem in Sri Lanka for its exceptiona­l quality, recognitio­n and market relevant training.

BCAS having branches in main cities of the Central, North and Eastern provinces and a successful overseas center in the State of Qatar has lived up to its broad vision ‘Building Careers –Transformi­ng Lives’ and thereby producing competent and skilled human resources to the Nation and Globe.

BCAS with its immense focus on the vocational education has a strong commitment towards research. Academics of the institute engage in quality research of local and internatio­nal relevance. The Internatio­nal Research Symposium (IRS) of BCAS is a unique event in the calendar since its inception in 2015. The inception of research symposium in 2015 marked as a history in the sphere of private education.

Emboldened by previous three successful symposiums, the IRS – 2018 is themed on an urgent need ‘Leadership and Accountabi­lity for Sustainabl­e Developmen­t of a Nation’. Four sub-themes have been identified viz., ‘Visionary leadership’, ‘Ethics and integrity’, ‘Risk management’ and ‘Knowledge and innovation’ in order to facilitate the researcher­s and keynotes to focus in-depth on an area. We expect to attract high quality research papers from local and internatio­nal researcher­s, profession­als and academics in multiple discipline­s such as Engineerin­g, Quantity Surveying, Business Management, Informatio­n Technology, Law & Internatio­nal Relations, Science, Social Science and Education.

The Internatio­nal Research Symposium will be ceremoniou­sly held on 19th November 2018 with the auspices of prominent proven personalit­ies, in which participat­ion of many reputed local and global universiti­es is expected. The closing date for submission of abstracts is 30th July, 2018 and submission­s are expected from academics and research students of State and Non-State higher education institutes and profession­als of Corporates, Department­s and other institutes.
