Play on media in Punchi Theatre

Two shows of ‘Thunsiya Heta eka– 361’ by Udayasiri Wickremaratne will be staged at 3.30 pm and 6.45 pm on July 1 at the Namel-Malini Punchi Theatre in Borella.

The cast includes Gihan Fernando, Umayangana Wickremasinghe, Ruwan Malith, Chamari Nisansala, Rohitha Jayakody, Mihiri Priyangani, Susanga Kahandawalaarachchi, Kusal Maduranga, Ishara Wickremasinghe and Nayanthara de Silva.

Famed for his earlier directions like ‘Suddek Oba Amathai’ (A White Man Addresses You) ‘Rangapem Ivaral’ (Adieu to Acting) and ‘Pem Yuwalak ona Kara Thibe’ (Wanted a Pair of Lovers) and in ‘Thunsiya Heta eka 361’ Wickremaratne exposes the realities behind popular media industry.

Music is by Lalith de Silva, set designing by Llewellyn Vanderwall, costume design by Nipuni Mendis and stage management is by Sumedha Prasanna.
