Summit on responsible fashion
How does the world of fashion redefine sustainability and bring solutions that are relevant to the issues that the global fashion industry is facing? The Responsible Fashion Movement launched by Ajai Vir Singh looking to provide some answers had its first Responsible Fashion Summit in March 2018.
The second summit to be held on July 4 on the theme ‘Earth Sensitive’ aims to bring awareness and solutions to environmental issues that the global fashion industry is facing. The Commonwealth Fashion Council (CFC), London has endorsed the Movement and Director and CEO of the CFC Daniel Hatton will be in Colombo to speak at the forum.
The Responsible Fashion Summit is presented by MAS Holdings and hosted at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, in association with Hirdaramani Group, Brandix Lanka Limited, Beira Group, BMW i3 and The Design Development Corporation.
Mihirini de Zoysa, MD of Corporate Druids, will moderate the summit. Some of the panel discussions will focus on ‘Designer Panel: Unburdening Earth’, “Manufacturer Panel: Can Responsible Fashion be part of the business plan’ and Innovative fabric presentations. Nonita Kalra, Editor in Chief Harpers Bazaar India will speak on “Role of Media: Influencing consumer behaviour towards Responsible Fashion’.
