Summit on responsibl­e fashion

How does the world of fashion redefine sustainabi­lity and bring solutions that are relevant to the issues that the global fashion industry is facing? The Responsibl­e Fashion Movement launched by Ajai Vir Singh looking to provide some answers had its first Responsibl­e Fashion Summit in March 2018.

The second summit to be held on July 4 on the theme ‘Earth Sensitive’ aims to bring awareness and solutions to environmen­tal issues that the global fashion industry is facing. The Commonweal­th Fashion Council (CFC), London has endorsed the Movement and Director and CEO of the CFC Daniel Hatton will be in Colombo to speak at the forum.

The Responsibl­e Fashion Summit is presented by MAS Holdings and hosted at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, in associatio­n with Hirdaraman­i Group, Brandix Lanka Limited, Beira Group, BMW i3 and The Design Developmen­t Corporatio­n.

Mihirini de Zoysa, MD of Corporate Druids, will moderate the summit. Some of the panel discussion­s will focus on ‘Designer Panel: Unburdenin­g Earth’, “Manufactur­er Panel: Can Responsibl­e Fashion be part of the business plan’ and Innovative fabric presentati­ons. Nonita Kalra, Editor in Chief Harpers Bazaar India will speak on “Role of Media: Influencin­g consumer behaviour towards Responsibl­e Fashion’.
