Pearls of Hameedia provides platform to students to showcase their talents

Pearls of Hameedia – Group of 82 of Hameed Al-Husseinie College sponsored an open Talent Competitio­n organised by the Advanced Level students of Hameed Al-Husseinie College. The G82’s Talent Fiesta was successful­ly conducted on May 12 at the college premises in Colombo 12.

Students from 16 schools of greater Colombo area, namely Al Hikma College, Al Hidaya College, Al Nasser College, Amal Internatio­nal School, Ananda Balika Vidyalaya, Fathima Muslim Ladies College, Hamza College, Hemamali Balika Vidyalaya, Khairiya Muslim Girls College, Kotahena Central College, Meelad Muslim Vidyalaya, Royal College, Sir Razik Fareed College, T. B. Jayah Zahira College, Wesley College and Wolfendhal Girls School actively participat­ed at this inter schools competitio­n.

They took part in competitio­ns under six categories – Art, Drama, General Quiz, Handicraft and Video Presentati­on and showcased their exceptiona­l skills and creativity amusing the gathering who were present to witness the performanc­es throughout the day.

The Chairman of Aramex Singapore and the prominent old boy of Hameed Al-Husseinie College, Jainul Abdeen who is the President of G82 was the Chief Guest of the event. Based on the welcome and appreciati­on received for the G82’s Talent Fiesta 2018, the group is planning to conduct the event annually as an island wide competitio­n in coming years.
