Asia Securities judged best research team at CFA’s Capital Market Awards

Asia Securities ( Pvt) Ltd was announced the Best Stockbroking Research Team at the 6th annual Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards hosted by the CFA Society of Sri Lanka, late last month.

Asia Securities is the first stock brokerage firm to win this recognition in consecutive years and the CFA Capital Market Awards is the only recognised comparative evaluation of providers of equity research in Sri Lanka, a media release by Asia Securities said.

“The selection process was based on a combined evaluation by an expert panel of capital market professionals and an investor feedback survey. The Best Stockbroking Research Team award category rec- ognises the stockbroking firm which offers the overall best research in terms of breadth, quality and investor reach.”

Commenting on the selection, Dumith Fernando, Chairman of Asia Securities and also a Director of the Colombo Stock Exchange ( CSE) was quoted as saying, “We are very pleased to be ranked the Best Stockbroking Research Team again. Being the first stockbroking firm to receive this honour in back- to- back years recognises the consistency of quality and scale of our offering to both local and foreign clients. We thank the CFA Society of Sri Lanka for running a very professional evaluation process.”

Kanishka Perera, Senior Vice President and outgoing Head of Research at Asia Securities was quoted as saying, “Local and foreign clients have continued to appreciate the comprehensive and in- depth nature of our research. Last month, Asia Securities was also recognised internationally as Sri Lanka’s Best Stock Broker at the Country Awards f or Achievement 2018 selected by FinanceAsia, a leading Asian finance journal.
