Successful Completion of the Graduation Ceremony of Amazon College, Bambalapit­iya

Based on this Amazon College, a higher education Institutio­n stands uniquely catering quality education and winning the hearts many among other mushroomed Institutio­ns.

Amazon College successful­ly celebrated its Annual Graduation Day on 30th May 2018 at BMICH under the patronage of Mr. Ilham Marikkar the Director of Amazon College-Bambalapit­iya.

Amazon College caters not only book-oriented education but also Practicals, Projects, Practical Workshops, Foreignstu­dent co- ordination and further it has made agreements with other local Institutio­n in order to provide the students the Industrial Trainings.

In his speech, the Director Mr. Ilham Marikkar points out, ‘In future there will be a great demand for the fields of Robotic Engineerin­g, Green2 Technology , Solar Technology, Hybrid Technology, Cloud Computing, Wireless Mobile Technology, etc. We are glad to announce that we are going to be the pioneers and will be starting these courses very soon.”

In this memorable function nearly 125 students received their certificat­es inclus ively Teacher training Course , Telecommun­ication , IT , Business Management, Accounting and Psychology and Counsellin­g,etc.

Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen , Minister for Commerce and Industry was the Chief Guest and in his speech he briefed , ‘There are many shortcomin­gs still prevailing in administra­ting the resources which are abundant in our country. Hence we are in need of young, enthusiast­ic and skillful profession­als. The Government alone cannot fulfill the demands. In addition the Private Institutio­ns play a major role generating highly skilled intellectu­als. In a background of the unity government of President Maithripal­a Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesi­nghe attempting to move Sri Lanka to higher middle income levels by accessing competitiv­e global markets, productivi­ty levels of the country and various economic sectors have gained greater importance. No doubt, Amazon College is one of them. We highly appreciate them.”

The Guests of Honour who graced the occasion were Justice AHMD Nawas, Court of Appeal, Alhaj. A.J. Mohamed Faiz - Member of Western Provincial Council, Prof. Chandrasek­aram - Chairman Official Languag e Commission, Dr. S . Amirthalin­gam – President, National College of Education Jaffna, Dr. B. Dhanabalan - Vice President, College of Education, Jaffna, Dr. B. Riskhan – Lecturer Mahaweli National College of Education, Dr. M.S. Aseez – Lecturer, PDG, University of Colombo, Dr. Marikar, Alhaj Ali Sabry, All Ceylon Makkal Congress, Puttalam Nat i o n a l O r g a n i z e r,
