If you’re a parent, you know that the August holidays can usually bring you joy and stress handin-hand. The joy of spending more time with your little one during the school holidays is usually accompanied by a small panicky moment where you try to figure out how to accommodate your energetic young one into your hectic work schedule.

For this sole reason, the Ladies’ College, Institute of Professional Studies has organised their annual summer camp for kids this year too, to help you juggle both family and work efficiently. Often referred to as the best summer camp in Colombo, the qualified teachers in charge ensure that the apple of your eye is in safe, capable hands.

Starting on the 6th of August, the camp will go on for 10 weekdays, all the way through the 17th. From 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, your sons and daughters, aged 5 – 12 will find a portal to channel their energy into an eventful and fun-filled summer camp that they will love. The camp which received around 20 kids at its inception is now met with about 80 applications, with the number growing each year. The ever-growing popularity of the camp is a byproduct of their success over the last 8 years, and it is no surprise that over the years, parents have expressly communicated their satisfaction with the conduct of the programme, recommending the programme to their friends and family.

This day camp provides your child with the opportunity to learn many skills that would undoubtedly shape them to be better citizens and overall high achievers. They will have the chance to interact and make friends with children from other schools, while learning the importance of good sportsmanship and how to be a team player. The girls and boys celebrating their birthdays during camp are showered with love and good wishes as they are given the spotlight to celebrate their special day, and the really shy ones always break out of their shell and find their voice as they engage in carefree laughter with their newly formed friends.

The events organised by the institute are sure to get your child bouncing in excitement and anticipation. The plethora of activities includes a scavenger hunt, balloon modelling, arts and crafts, a cookery workshop, hip hop dancing and the all new ECO craft and fun with electronics workshops. A fancy dress and talent show is schedule to take place on the final day.

There is a wide variety of opportunities for the kids to find joy in something they were never exposed to before. Your child might find that he/ she has a knack for cooking, or even the flair to move with the rhythm. The Talent Show could be your chance at discovering your child’s hidden talents as it is completely up to the children to decide what they are inspired by, and what they want to showcase.

Children can bring snacks to replenish their hungry tummies, making sure that there will be nothing on their minds but the fun and games. Since each activity is meant to be rewarding, every child that leaves the camp is filled with the sense of satisfaction, and with loads of gifts ready to be distributed, no child will go with their arms or their hearts empty.

Registration for this much anticipated summer camp ends on the 1st of August 2018 at an all inclusive fee of just Rs. 12,000. For more information, visit www. lcips.lk
