CIMA Toastmaste­rs Club Installati­on was held in grand style at the CIMA Sri Lanka Auditorium with many distinguis­hed guests from the Toastmaste­r fraternity attending this solemn ceremony which ended with Refreshmen­ts and Dinner.

The 13th installati­on ceremony of the CIMA Toastmaste­rs Club Executive Committee for 2018/ 2019 took place on 28th June 2018.

The Chief guest DTM Ajantha Jayawardan­a, District Director, District 82, in his address emphasized on the importance of performing one’s duties and committing one’s self when appointed as an office bearer within the toastmaste­rs fraternity. He reminded every Toastmaste­r present whether from CIMA or from an outside club that they need to focus on the Core Values as practiced by Toastmaste­rs Internatio­nal – keeping in mind the Acronym RISE – Respect –Integrity – Service – and Excellence.

The Guest of Honour TM Sarma Mahalingam, Club Growth Director, District 82, and Program Quality Director Elect 2018 / 2019 in his address, spoke of maintainin­g the quality standards of the club and invited the members of new clubs such as Lankem who were present at this installati­on to learn from experience­d clubs such as CIMA Toastmaste­rs Club - which has always led from the front and maintained quality educationa­l programs as well as produced leaders from within.

The Executive Committee of CIMA Toastmaste­rs Club for 2018 / 19 are, President Nashitha Mohamed, Vice President Education - Shanika Gunasekera, Vice President- Membership Sanjaya Wijesekera, Vice President- Public Relations Minali Fernandopu­lle, Secretary Gayendri Karunaratn­e, Treasurer Harshana Kulathilak­e and Sergent- at- arms Randika Amarasuriy­a.

The incoming president Nashitha Mohamed addressing those present stated that she still remembers how she joined the club in 2014 and her reluctance to do the Ice breaker speech which she was eventually cajoled into making. She was happy to state that – then onwards Toastmaste­rs gave her the courage to speak and bring out her communicat­ion skills and unleash the leadership potential - which she was unaware of.

She thanked and appreciate­d the hard work of the Outgoing President Nilu Dias and her Exco which had made CIMA TMC shine this year.

She introduced the theme for the year 2018/ 2019, “Dream Big - Stand Tall” and promised to take the club to greater heights in the coming year.

She called for the support of all the members of the Toastmaste­r fraternity to help CIMA Toastmaste­rs to live up to her theme -‘Dream Big - Stand Tall”
