SL Navy presents Reverse Osmosis plant to rural school

As par t of its Community Welfare projects, the Sri Lanka Nav y ’ s (SLN) Research & Development Unit vested a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant with the students of CP/ Gale-Weera Mohan Jayamaha MV in Dambulla, at a ceremony attended by North Central Naval Area Commander Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage.

"This RO plant will provide clean drinking water for about 1,700 students," the SLN said in a news release.

In compliance with the statement, “Good governance-Stable country”, contained in the manifesto of President Maithripala Sirisena, to formulate a healthy society and to provide clean drinking water to the people who suffer from chronic kidney disease, the SLN installed this RO plant utilising its funds and labour.

The Computer Laboratory of this school, renovated by the Naval personnel attached to the NCC, under the supervision of Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage, with SLN funds, was also declared open for the students.

SLN's IT personnel repaired 10 broken computers, and these welfare projects were com- mended by the Zonal Director of Education, the Principal and the parents.

The wife of late Rear Admiral Mohan Jayamaha ( Killed in Action) Mrs Vinoda Jayamaha, Commanding Officer of SLNS Pandukabhya, Cap t a i n Sumithra Fonseka, Manager Teachers’ Centre-Galewela W.M. Wijekoon, Principal S. A. P. Leelarathna, former Principal A.M.A.G. Jayananda, Teachers, students and parents were present on this occasion.
