ESOFT Metro Campus wins Top Award

-

ESOFT Metro Campus was recently recognised by Pearson (Edexcel) with the Platinum Partner Award. This top award was bestowed on ESOFT due to the growth in numbers of students registering for the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma programmes, via ESOFT’s comprehensive branch network. ESOFT partnered with Pearson (Edexcel) was back in 2009, and has won a number of awards over the past years. In 2012, ESOFT was recognised as the “fastest developing centre” for the growth in numbers during the year 2011. To receive such an award just two years after commencing the partnership was a great honour.

By 2014, ESOFT had achieved Gold Partner status which was again awarded in 2016 and 2017 for three consecutive years. This year’s platinum partner award recognises ESOFT as the largest BTEC HND Partner in Sri Lanka.

The Pearson BTEC HND’s are a popular choice in Sri Lanka due to the fact that it’s a British qualification which is both locally and internationally recognised, which is equivalent to the first two years of a three year honours degree. Students that complete the HND then have to study only for one more year (top-up year) in order to complete their bachelor’s degree. Compared with the option of travelling to a foreign country to get your education, this option is both affordable and recognised. The modular structure of the HND allows an after A/L student to get an allround knowledge in the chosen discipline, and the fact that this is a vocational qualification means that the student will get hands-on knowledge and experience. i.e. the BTEC HND is not just a paper qualification, as it equips you with the skills that you need in order to succeed in your chosen profession.

In a day and age where eve- ryone that completes their school education is unable to enter into a state university to obtain the benefits of a free higher education, ESOFT provides a great service to the nation by making high quality and reputed British educational products and qualifications available to the Sri Lankan youth at a fraction of the price of what is charged internationally.

Where most other private institutions would demand lump sum payments at the start of every semester, or at the start of each year, ESOFT gives a greater flexibility to students to complete their payments. In a context where parents would be placed in great difficulty to secure bank loans by mortgaging property, ESOFT takes the hassle and the worry out of the minds of the parents. Course fees are payable in affordable monthly instalments using ESOFT’s own financial plans, thereby reducing the financial burden on the parents and thereby benefitting society. ESOFT takes all of the risk, as a dropped out student means that ESOFT loses out on collecting the promised fees. ESOFT also provides flexibility to the parents in paying the international registration fees (which is approximately 50,000 rupees based on the current exchange rates and fees) and does not demand that it be paid at the start of the course.

ESOFT also provides comprehensive study material for each module, along with an online Learning Management System, allowing the student to download required material and engage in curricular activities.

ESOFT Metro Campus has also made the HND available in various parts of the country including the North and the East, so that all Sri Lankans have an equal opportunity of obtaining this valued educational qualification. Parents will also receive the peace of mind of knowing that their children are studying at a centre close to their home, and not hundreds of kilometres away. HND is a vocational qualification, which means that the student learns hands-on skills which are then assessed using assignments and presentations. It’s not about being able to memorise facts, and is more about developing a work-ready individual.

ESOFT recently held their HND graduation, which saw 400+ students receiving their awards. Amongst these were students from all parts of the island including Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Kalmunai, Trincomalee, and more.
