As a constantly expanding and growing industry today, tourism has become a major contributor to the country’s GDP. Speaking of this, Bentley Products company holds a significant status as the first hotel and catering equipment manufacturer in Sri Lanka. Mr. Chrishantha Victor, the director of Sales & Marketing of Bentley Products Co. shared with us the journey of this pioneer company which was established in 1967.
At the very beginning, the company started its journey from manufacturing electro-medical & laboratory equipments, and domestic products like ovens, kettles and irons,etc.
And today, it is the largest hotel and catering equipment manufacturer and its products include; Hot / Cold display show cases, Under Counter Chillers, Freezers, Bains Marie, Refrigerated Salad Counters, Kitchen Equipment and Laundry equipments etc. Some of these products are used in star class hotels in Colombo such as Cinnamon Grand, Taj Samudra, Galadari, etc. and also in number of resorts and hotels in Arugam bay and other tourist destinations specially the southern coastal areas in Sri Lanka.
Apart from the custom made products manufactured in Sri Lanka, Bentley products company initiated import of hotel and catering equipments from countries like Spain, Turkey, Malaysia and China since 2011 with the aim of enhancing their services. Their service starts from the design, to supply and installation and completes the customers’ satisfaction with prompt after sales service. Their service team includes qualified hotel consultants and chartered engineers to monitor electrical and mechanical equipments to ensure their quality of service. Their aftersale services continues even after the warranty period and that’s what captures them a significant status among its competitors in the industry.
Further, he was proud to mention that the company played its part in the country’s first and only train restaurant at Water’s Edge, Colombo and helped Sri Lankan Catering Kitchen to receive Presidential Best Waste Management Award by building an extra large automated autoclave.
Also, now they have extended their services by stepping into the international market. They are now a registered exporter certified by the Export Development Board in Sri Lanka where they export their products to countries like Australia, Maldives and Middle East.
They have further expanded their range of services by being the largest production equipment supplier to laboratories and export industries island wide.
