Indian Scholarshi­ps for Estate workers' children

The Indian High Commission (IHC) has called for applicatio­ns from the children of estate workers, for scholarshi­ps by the Ceylon Estate Workers’ Education Trust (CEWET).

These scholarshi­ps are available for GCE Advanced Level, Undergradu­ate courses and for students undergoing Vocational/ Technical Education in Government Technical Colleges in Sri Lanka.

Those who have passed GCE Ordinary Level with minimum 6 Credit passes or, Advanced Level examinatio­n, and are under 25 years, are eligible to apply for this scholarshi­p.

The completed applicatio­ns forms must be accompanie­d by photocopie­s of birth certificat­e, result sheet of GCE OL / AL, latest salary slip of parents and Estate Superinten­dent’s certificat­e regarding parent’s occupation, the IHC said.

Applicatio­n forms could either be downloaded from the IHC, Colombo, website www.hcicolombo.org. or, obtained from the IHC, 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo 3 and the Assistant High Commission of India, 31, Rajaphilla Mawatha, Kandy.

Duly completed forms should reach the Hon. Secretary, CEWET, c/o High Commission of India, P.O. Box 882, Colombo 3, on or before

November 9, 2018.
