: Marking the largest student intake in history

Sri Lanka’s premier degree awarding school, NSBM Green University Town greeted a group of over 1200 students as the second batch of year 2018, Wednesday, the 10th of October. Marking the largest student intake in NSBM’s history, the orientation programme was conducted with the participation of a substantial crowd of 3000 including fresh undergraduates and their parents in four parallel sessions.

Chairman of NSBM P Ranepura, Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University Dr. EA Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor Mr. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Mr. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of the Schools Ms. Thilini De Silva, Mr. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Head of Marketing, Mr Chiranjeewa Atapattu, Senior academic and non-academic staff members were participated on this ceremony.

The Inauguration Ceremony is a formal reception of the new students who embarked on their journey towards to be a global graduate. Total orientation programmewill be conducted over a period of 10 days from the 10th to the 19th of October. Many programmes were conducted by NSBM’s talented academic staff which cultivated in students the values expected of an undergraduate in academic as well as behavioral aspects. Furthermore, the new studentswill be given several otherall-inclusivepreparatory sessions on how to adapt to the university setting.

NSBM serves as the Nations’ Premier Degree School and accredited to offer its own programmes under University Grants Commission and those that are awarded by its internationally top ranked partners namely University College of Dublin – Ireland, Plymouth University – UK and Victoriya University- Australia.

The students who enroll in NSBM for the year 2018 will thus join it to reap the benefits of the first ever Green University experience in South Asia.
